Cannabis Indica Cough Syrup, Children & The Law

If there were no ridiculous laws, rules or regulations prohibiting cannabis use for American families, I would absolutely make my own organically grown, all natural & non toxic cannabis indica cough syrup for my kids. Instead, I follow like a scared sheep. We have in our medicine cabinet big pharma's children's cough syrup with synthetic, toxic and dangerous DXM(Dextromethorphan). If we grow our own natural, non toxic medications from cannabis, we will go to prison for a long, long time. So I beg to ask the question, why do we as parents(who supposedly want the best for our kids) succumb to the fear of prison time and serve our own children TOXIC & EXTREMELY DANGEROUS DXM infused cough syrups? I hear parents all the time say "I would take a bullet for my kids" or "I do everything possible to ensure my kids are safe." Really??? I can tell you as honestly as possible that I don't always do what's best for my kids. If my kids get a cold or cough, I still serve them DXM infused cough syrup. I guess my freedom is more important than the health and well being of my own children. I can say all I want my children are more important to me than anything in the world but my actions along with the actions of all Americans and Canadians proves following government rules and regulations are more important than our own kids no matter how dangerous those rules and regulations are. Its a sad state of affairs when government forces parents to accept following dangerous laws as more important than the health and well being of their children.
